We require 2 Software Developers for our higher education client to design, develop and deploy cutting-edge software solutions in the telco domain for project delivery.
You will be a proficient Software Developer with a strong knowledge in Python and a background in networking and cloud computing; including familiarity with 5G/LTE technologies and Git version control.
You will also possess experience in database management, web interface and UX design together with proficiency in API integration.

This role requires expertise in both high-level and low-level software architecture to develop a web-based portal and APIs. Additionally, the candidate must design and implement automation for interacting with cloud platforms, network equipment, and virtualised infrastructure, showcasing a blend of technical skill and innovative thinking for scalable solutions.

Essential Skills and Experience required:

As the Software Developer you will possess the following:

Proficiency in Python programming language, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform as well as private clouds like Openstack.

Familiarity with access technologies such as 5G/LTE and WiFi, and their impact on software development and performance

Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.

Familiarity and experience with Real Time operating systems (RTOS) and developing applications with stringent timing requirements.

Experience working with databases, preferably InfluxDB, including database design, optimisation, and query optimisation.

Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, for deploying and managing containerised applications.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Able to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Utilise Git version control system for efficient code management, branching, and merging, ensuring codebase integrity and collaboration among team members.

Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software testing, build, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of software updates.

Familiarity with full-stack development concepts and technologies, including Front End frameworks (eg, React, Angular) and Back End frameworks (eg, Django, Flask).

Knowledge of AI/ML techniques and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to software development projects.

Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.

Highly desirable would be:

Knowledge of 5G networks specially O-RAN architecture (Core and RAN)

Some familiarity with other software development languages and platforms

Experience of developing software (xApps and rApps) for near-Realtime RIC and non-Realtime RIC
