We are seeking a Technical Architect to lead the technical design and architecture for a critical data migration project. The project involves transitioning data from Legacy databases to the AWS cloud. The ideal candidate will design robust, scalable architectures and guide the implementation to ensure the project is delivered efficiently, securely, and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architecture Design:
   • Design and architect a secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud-based data migration solution using AWS services.
   • Create detailed technical specifications, system architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
2. Technical Leadership:
   • Lead and mentor the engineering team in implementing the architecture, providing guidance and support.
   • Drive technical decisions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and internal standards.
3. Legacy System Analysis:
   • Analyze existing Legacy databases and design strategies to effectively migrate them to the AWS cloud.
   • Identify potential challenges in data conversion and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   • Collaborate closely with product management, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to align the architecture with business needs.
   • Ensure seamless integration of the new architecture with existing systems and workflows.
5. Security and Compliance:
   • Ensure data migration solutions comply with relevant security standards and data privacy regulations.
   • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data during and after the migration process.
6. Performance Optimisation:
   • Optimize architecture designs to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
   • Continuously evaluate and improve performance metrics post-migration.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the architecture, design decisions, and implementation processes.
   • Provide regular status reports and technical recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in technical architecture, with a significant focus on cloud-based data migration projects.
• Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, including data storage, networking, and security.
• In-depth understanding of Legacy database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data integration/migration tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification.
• Experience implementing Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Terraform or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
